Ponnad, a place of peace and green written all over it. Being blessed with the Vembanad waters on one side and the Perumthuruth Kari on the other, Ponnad boasts of an abundance of resources for the people. A beautiful village with beautiful people, who do not let religion and caste get in the way of their peace. Ponnad is a village that go with their traditions and customs as has been happening from so many years. The traditions and old customs do not let the standard of living to be dropped though, due to the presence of many NRIs.
Recently, a group of like-minded people from Ponnad gathered together with only one thing on their mind. How do we put an end to the sufferings the under-privileged face in the society? No, this is not a punishment those poor souls have to go through as consequence for their own actions. Their only fault is that they were born into needy families, or they have a natural problem that they cannot take care of. These people, as their times worsen, lose hope of an easier life ahead. They lose hope of pursuing their dreams.
We, HOPE, aim to ease these people of their problems, financially and otherwise, and to offer them HOPE.
HOPE is under registration as a charitable trust under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act of 1955.
